28Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite: 29Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the disaster in his days; but in his son's days I will bring the disaster on his house.
11Serve the LORD with fear, with trembling 12kiss his feet, r he will be angry, and you will perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Happy are all who take refuge in him.
6But Jesus has now obtained a more excellent ministry, and to that degree he is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted through better promises. 7For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need to look for a second one.
15I will meditate on your precepts, and fix my eyes on your ways. 16I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
12So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. 13For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
20Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid; for God has come only to test you and to put the fear of him upon you so that you do not sin." 21Then the people stood at a distance, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
